 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
 of Dr. Clay Edward Ellis of Arlington, who passed away on April 12,
 2010, at the age of 56; and
 WHEREAS, Born on September 9, 1953, Clay Ellis grew up in Fort
 Worth; he met his future wife, the former Dell Holman, when they
 were students at Paschal High School, and they were married while he
 was attending Texas Christian University; and
 WHEREAS, Dr. Ellis continued his studies at the Baylor
 College of Dentistry and the St. Louis University School of
 Orthodontics; in 1979, he moved with his family to Arlington, where
 he practiced successfully as an orthodontist for three decades; and
 WHEREAS, An active member of his community, Dr. Ellis
 participated in a number of civic organizations and associations;
 he served on the city council of Dalworthington Gardens and as a
 volunteer coach for Optimist Club Youth Football; and
 WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, he enjoyed the love and
 support of his wife, Dell, and their five children, Jennifer,
 Courtney, Jon, Charles, and Carter; he also treasured the time he
 spent with his four grandchildren, Warren, Peyton, Avery, and Trey;
 and
 WHEREAS, A devoted family man and a caring professional, Clay
 Ellis will be deeply missed, but the kindness, faith, and integrity
 with which he lived his life will forever inspire all who had the
 good fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dr. Clay Edward
 Ellis and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family:
 to his wife, Dell Holman Ellis; to his daughters, Jennifer Ericson
 and her husband, Eric, and Courtney Ellis-Spitzer; to his sons, Jon
 Ellis and his wife, Holly, Charles Ellis and his wife, Diana, and
 Carter Franklyn Ellis; to his grandchildren, Warren, Peyton, and
 Avery Ericson and Trey Ellis-Spitzer; and to his other relatives
 and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Clay Edward
 Ellis.
