H.R. No. 479
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, M. J. and Dorothy Whitehead of Waco
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on January 17, 2013; and
WHEREAS, M. J. Whitehead and the former Dorothy Scheu were
united in matrimony at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in San Diego,
California, in 1953, and over the course of their marriage, they
have found in each other a loving life partner; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Whitehead count among their blessings a
fine family that includes three children and their spouses, Steve
and his wife, Leslee, Lisa, and James and his wife, Louisa, as well
as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six
decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in
their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love has
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace
and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate M. J. and Dorothy Whitehead on
their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Whitehead as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
