H.R. No. 480
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Gary Hannemann stepped down from the McGregor
Independent School District Board of Trustees on January 17, 2013,
bringing to a close 18 years of noteworthy service; and
WHEREAS, School board members play an integral role in the
education of our children, and the trustees of McGregor ISD oversee
the administration of four schools in McLennan County, which in
turn serve some 1,400 area students; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hannemann joined the board of McGregor ISD
nearly two decades ago, and the wisdom, sound judgment, and
commitment to teamwork that he has demonstrated throughout his
tenure have earned him the respect and admiration of his fellow
trustees; he can take pride in the "Recognized" rating that the
district has received from the Texas Education Agency, as well as in
such recent improvements as the addition of a number of academic
programs, an increase in campus personnel, significant upgrades in
computer equipment, and the construction of two state-of-the-art
science labs; and
WHEREAS, With his longstanding dedication to the district's
mission of empowering students with the skills, knowledge, and
experience to become responsible and productive citizens, Gary
Hannemann has helped broaden the path of opportunity for many young
Texans; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby commend Gary Hannemann for his 18 years of
outstanding service on the McGregor Independent School District
Board of Trustees and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Hannemann as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
