H.R. No. 481
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
by a great and enduring love, Leroy and Ora Mae Simek of Waco
celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on December 31, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Simek were united in matrimony in 1952
by the Reverend Michael O'Reagan in a ceremony held at St. Ann's
Catholic Church in Rosebud; the couple settled in Waco in 1956 and
are faithful congregants at St. Louis Catholic Church; and
WHEREAS, Through the years, the Simeks have nurtured a
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the
addition of their children, Quinn Simek and Peggy Pepin; in
addition to their children, Mr. and Mrs. Simek have welcomed into
the world five grandchildren, Roger and Rory Simek, Rebecca Jones,
Reagen Hines, and Matthew Reyes, as well as five
great-grandchildren, Madison Garcia, Tanner and Abigail Simek,
Jaxon Jones, and Gianna Reyes; and
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six
decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in
their commitment to each other, and the strength of their love has
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace
and optimism; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Leroy and Ora Mae Simek on their
60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Simek as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
