No. 632 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Chinese American Doctors Association of Houston is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its founding in 2013; and WHEREAS, Established in 1993, the CADAH is a nonprofit organization that unites Chinese American doctors in addressing issues of common concern; the group also collaborates with similar organizations in seeking to safeguard the rights and welfare of all Asian American doctors; and WHEREAS, The CADAH sponsors a regular schedule of activities, including continuing medical education talks, an annual Chinese New Year gala, and a yearly general assembly; for the past decade, members have additionally supported the work of the CADAH Foundation, which offers scholarships, organizes lectures on medical topics for Asian communities, and conducts health fairs that offer medical and dental services; and WHEREAS, For 20 years, the CADAH has helped to promote professional achievement while fostering diversity in the Houston medical community, and in so doing, it has made a positive difference across the Bayou City; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby honor the Chinese American Doctors Association of Houston on the 20th anniversary of its founding and extend to the association's members sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
