 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Hayoung Moon, a sixth-grade student at River Valley
 Intermediate School in McGregor, earned first prize in the junior
 division of the 2013 Houston Civic Symphony Young Artist
 Competition; and
 WHEREAS, A cellist who studies with Dr. Gary Hardie at the
 Central Texas String Academy, Hayoung performed a Haydn cello
 concerto at the competition; as the winner of the junior division,
 he will now appear as a cello soloist in a concert with the symphony
 on March 8 at Houston Baptist University; and
 WHEREAS, Hayoung was previously selected as principal
 cellist of the Suzuki Youth Orchestras of the Americas, and he was
 chosen along with four other Central Texas String Academy students
 to play in a chamber group in the Suzuki national convention in
 Minneapolis; and
 WHEREAS, This talented young Texan is a source of pride to his
 family, his teachers, and his community, and it is indeed a pleasure
 to honor him for his outstanding proficiency as a classical
 musician; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Hayoung Moon on winning first prize
 in the Houston Civic Symphony Young Artist Competition and extend
 to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Hayoung Moon as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
