H.R. No. 917
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, William Sproull has played an instrumental role in
the economic development of Richardson, and his efforts are
building a brighter future for his fellow residents; and
WHEREAS, The president and CEO of the area chamber of
commerce, Mr. Sproull also leads the Richardson Economic
Development Partnership and the Metroplex Technology Business
Council, which has become one of the largest trade associations for
technology companies in the state; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sproull has further benefited his industry and
the greater community by helping to establish the Texas Emerging
Technology Fund, and he has been appointed to three consecutive
terms on its state advisory committee by Governor Rick Perry; and
WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Sproull has shared his time
and expertise with the board of directors of the International
Economic Development Council, The University of Texas at Dallas
Venture Development Center, the North Texas Regional Center for
Innovation & Commercialization, and the North Texas Commission; and
WHEREAS, This notable Texan has been recognized for his many
professional accomplishments; a two-time recipient of the American
Economic Development Council's "Best of Class" marketing award, he
has also been honored for his work with the Richardson Economic
Development Partnership, which has repeatedly been named one of the
top 10 development groups in the United States by Site Selection
magazine; and
WHEREAS, William Sproull's vision and dedication have helped
Richardson to grow and prosper, and his contributions have made a
lasting, positive impact on this North Texas community; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby honor William Sproull for his contributions to
the economic development of Richardson and extend to him sincere
best wishes for continued success with his important work; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Sproull as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
