 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, J. J. Pearce High School of the Richardson
 Independent School District has earned national recognition for
 establishing a learning community that stimulates intellectual
 engagement and academic achievement; and
 WHEREAS, The recipient of a number of prestigious honors,
 Pearce High has been named a Newsweek Top U.S. High School,
 Washington Post Top 5 Percent U.S. High School, and U.S. News &
 World Report Outstanding American High School; and
 WHEREAS, Pearce High has also been honored with the ACT
 College Readiness and Meadows Foundation Community Service Awards;
 on the state and local levels, this notable institution has earned
 the titles of D Magazine Top Metroplex High School, Texas Education
 Agency Exemplary School, and Texas Business and Education Coalition
 Honor Roll School; and
 WHEREAS, These significant accomplishments are a testament
 to the rigorous scholastic standards and exceptional opportunities
 that characterize Pearce High School, and they are a source of
 justifiable pride to principal Beverly Vance and all those
 associated with the school; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby honor the administration and faculty of
 J. J. Pearce High School for their commitment to excellence in
 education and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued
 success with their important work; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
