 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Junior Achievement of Brazoria County received a
 2011 Peak Performance Team Award from its parent organization,
 Junior Achievement USA; and
 WHEREAS, In order to qualify for this prestigious accolade,
 JA Brazoria County demonstrated a strong financial position and
 increases in revenue growth, market share, and student membership;
 the organization is the only one in the nation selected from a
 community of similar size, and it also earned the JA Summit Award in
 each of the past three years; and
 WHEREAS, Established in 1956, JA Brazoria is dedicated to
 giving children a fundamental understanding of the free enterprise
 system, business, economics, and financial matters; the
 organization teaches area youth about money management,
 leadership, and career paths, and its programming encourages the
 pursuit of important educational goals; during the 2011-2012 school
 year, JA Brazoria reached more than 6,000 students in 7 school
 districts and private schools all across the county; and
 WHEREAS, This dynamic JA chapter is ably guided by president
 Kim Effenberger with the assistance of program manager Stephanie
 Ward; in addition, it benefits by the dedicated efforts of a
 25-member board, which includes local residents and business
 leaders, and by the contributions of community volunteers; and
 WHEREAS, By promoting financial literacy, work readiness,
 and entrepreneurship, Junior Achievement of Brazoria is helping
 young people build a strong foundation for success in the global
 economy, and its endeavors are indeed worthy of special
 recognition; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Junior Achievement of Brazoria
 County on its receipt of a 2011 Peak Performance Team Award from
 Junior Achievement USA and extend to all those associated with the
 organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
