 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Kendra Donnelly was inducted into the
 Hurst-Euless-Bedford Sports Hall of Fame on February 16, 2013, in
 recognition of her notable contributions to local athletics; and
 WHEREAS, Since 1995, the H-E-B Sports Hall of Fame has paid
 tribute to individuals and teams who have made a positive impact in
 the community through sports-related endeavors; the hall was
 created to honor successful teams and athletes as well as
 officials, administrators, trainers, medical practitioners, media
 figures, and others who have distinguished themselves with their
 achievements; and
 WHEREAS, Kendra Donnelly grew up in the H-E-B area and
 attended Hurst Junior High School and L. D. Bell High School, where
 she played a number of sports; after continuing her athletic career
 as a volleyball and basketball player in college, she returned to
 North Texas and became an educator with the Hurst-Euless-Bedford
 Independent School District in 1974; she worked first at Hurst
 Junior High, and during her three years at the school, she created a
 multisport curriculum for junior high girls that was used
 throughout the district; she also coached several sports and
 ultimately guided H-E-B students in volleyball, basketball,
 cross-country, and track; and
 WHEREAS, In 1977, she became the first girls' basketball head
 coach at L. D. Bell High School and held the post for 14 years; her
 exceptional work in guiding the Lady Raiders earned her the
 Northeast Tarrant County Coach of the Year award in 1985, and her
 teams claimed three district titles and qualified for the play-offs
 each year between 1982 and 1989; she has continued to serve the
 district in other capacities and currently works in the Technology
 Department; and
 WHEREAS, Kendra Donnelly's many accomplishments have helped
 advance the proud tradition of athletic excellence in the
 Hurst-Euless-Bedford school system, and she is indeed deserving of
 this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Kendra Donnelly on her induction
 into the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Sports Hall of Fame and extend to her
 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Donnelly as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
