9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subsection (d), Section 453.201, Occupations | |
11 | 11 | Code, is amended to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | (d) Unless the person is a physical therapist, a person, | |
13 | 13 | including the person's employee or other agent or representative, | |
14 | 14 | may not use in connection with the person's name or business | |
15 | 15 | activity: | |
16 | 16 | (1) the words "physical therapy," "physical | |
17 | 17 | therapist," "physiotherapy," "physiotherapist," "licensed | |
18 | 18 | physical therapist," "registered physical therapist," or "physical | |
19 | 19 | therapist assistant"; | |
20 | 20 | (2) the letters "PT," "PhT," "LPT," "RPT," "DPT," | |
21 | 21 | "MPT," or "PTA"; or | |
22 | 22 | (3) any other words, letters, abbreviations, or | |
23 | 23 | insignia indicating or implying, by any means or in any way, that | |
24 | 24 | physical therapy is provided or supplied. | |
25 | 25 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
