99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subsection (d), Section 453.201, Occupations
1111 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1212 (d) Unless the person is a physical therapist, a person,
1313 including the person's employee or other agent or representative,
1414 may not use in connection with the person's name or business
1515 activity:
1616 (1) the words "physical therapy," "physical
1717 therapist," "physiotherapy," "physiotherapist," "licensed
1818 physical therapist," "registered physical therapist," or "physical
1919 therapist assistant";
2020 (2) the letters "PT," "PhT," "LPT," "RPT," "DPT,"
2121 "MPT," or "PTA"; or
2222 (3) any other words, letters, abbreviations, or
2323 insignia indicating or implying, by any means or in any way, that
2424 physical therapy is provided or supplied.
2525 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
