9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 2054.059, Government Code, is amended to | |
11 | 11 | read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 2054.059. CYBERSECURITY [INFORMATION SECURITY]. From | |
13 | 13 | available funds, the [The] department shall: | |
14 | 14 | (1) establish and administer a clearinghouse for | |
15 | 15 | information relating to all aspects of protecting the cybersecurity | |
16 | 16 | [security] of state agency information; | |
17 | 17 | (2) develop strategies and a framework for: | |
18 | 18 | (A) the securing of cyberinfrastructure by state | |
19 | 19 | agencies, including critical infrastructure; and | |
20 | 20 | (B) cybersecurity risk assessment and mitigation | |
21 | 21 | planning; | |
22 | 22 | (3) develop and provide training to state agencies on | |
23 | 23 | cybersecurity measures and awareness; | |
24 | 24 | (4) provide assistance to state agencies on request | |
25 | 25 | regarding the strategies and framework developed under Subdivision | |
26 | 26 | (2); and | |
27 | 27 | (5) promote public awareness of cybersecurity issues. | |
28 | 28 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
