11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 81.0075, Family Code, is amended to read | |

13 | 13 | Sec. 81.0075. REPRESENTATION BY PROSECUTING ATTORNEY IN | |
14 | 14 | CERTAIN OTHER [SUBSEQUENT] ACTIONS. Subject to the Texas | |
15 | 15 | Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct, a [A] prosecuting | |
16 | 16 | attorney [who represents a party in a proceeding under this | |
17 | 17 | subtitle] is not precluded from representing a party in a | |
18 | 18 | proceeding under this subtitle and the Department of Family and | |
19 | 19 | Protective Services in another [a subsequent] action involving the | |
20 | 20 | party, regardless of whether the proceeding under this subtitle | |
21 | 21 | occurs before, concurrently with, or after the other action | |
22 | 22 | involving the party. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
24 | 24 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
25 | 25 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
26 | 26 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
27 | 27 | Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
