| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 775.031, Health and Safety Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (b-1) A district that was formerly a rural fire prevention | |
| 13 | 13 | district that is not otherwise prohibited by statute from providing | |
| 14 | 14 | fire prevention or fire-fighting services may provide those | |
| 15 | 15 | services. | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act is a | |
| 17 | 17 | clarification of existing law and does not imply that existing law | |
| 18 | 18 | may be construed as inconsistent with the law as amended by this | |
| 19 | 19 | Act. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
