The bill would require the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) to determine the satisfactory level of performance required for each certification examination. The bill would require a satisfactory level of examination performance in each core subject covered by the examination for the issuance of a generalist certificate. Based on information provided by the Texas Education Agency, the duties and responsiblities required to implement the provisions of the bill could be implemented within existing resources.
