                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 1, 2013      TO: Honorable Dan Patrick, Chair, Senate Committee on Education      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB1555 by Lucio (Relating to requirements for state educator certification examinations.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would require the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) to determine the satisfactory level of performance required for each certification examination. The bill would require a satisfactory level of examination performance in each core subject covered by the examination for the issuance of a generalist certificate. Based on information provided by the Texas Education Agency, the duties and responsiblities required to implement the provisions of the bill could be implemented within existing resources.
