| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 504.309, Transportation Code, is amended | |
| 12 | 12 | to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 504.309. MILITARY ACADEMY LICENSE PLATES. The | |
| 14 | 14 | department shall issue specialty license plates for persons who: | |
| 15 | 15 | (1) are graduates of: | |
| 16 | 16 | (A) the United States Military Academy; | |
| 17 | 17 | (B) [,] the United States Naval Academy; | |
| 18 | 18 | (C) [, or] the United States Air Force Academy; | |
| 19 | 19 | (D) the United States Merchant Marine Academy; or | |
| 20 | 20 | (E) the United States Coast Guard Academy; and | |
| 21 | 21 | (2) are current or former commissioned officers of the | |
| 22 | 22 | United States armed forces. | |
| 23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
