| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subsection (c), Section 334.024, Local | |
| 11 | 11 | Government Code, is amended to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (c) The ballot at the election held under this section must | |
| 13 | 13 | be printed to permit voting for or against the proposition: | |
| 14 | 14 | "Authorizing ________ (insert name of municipality or county) to | |
| 15 | 15 | _______ (insert description of venue project) and to ________ | |
| 16 | 16 | (insert "impose a new" or "authorize the use of the existing") | |
| 17 | 17 | [impose a] ________ tax (insert the type of tax) at the rate of | |
| 18 | 18 | ________ (insert [the type of tax and] the maximum rate of the tax) | |
| 19 | 19 | for the purpose of financing the venue project." | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only | |
| 21 | 21 | to a ballot for an election ordered on or after the effective date | |
| 22 | 22 | of this Act. The ballot for an election ordered before the | |
| 23 | 23 | effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect when the | |
| 24 | 24 | election was ordered, and the former law is continued in effect for | |
| 25 | 25 | that purpose. | |
| 26 | 26 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
