| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subsection (a), Section 651.054, Occupations | |
| 11 | 11 | Code, is amended to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (a) Members of the commission serve staggered six-year | |
| 13 | 13 | terms, with the terms of one-third of the members expiring in each | |
| 14 | 14 | odd-numbered year. [A member may not be appointed for more than one | |
| 15 | 15 | full term, except that a member appointed to fill an unexpired term | |
| 16 | 16 | with less than three years remaining in the unexpired term may be | |
| 17 | 17 | reappointed to the commission for one full term.] | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. Subsection (b), Section 651.060, Occupations | |
| 19 | 19 | Code, is repealed. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 21 | 21 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 22 | 22 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 23 | 23 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 24 | 24 | Act takes effect September 1, 2013. |
