                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 83RD LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            February 5, 2013      TO: Honorable Royce West, Chair, Senate Committee on Jurisprudence      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB251 by West (Relating to an unsworn declaration made by an employee of a state agency or political subdivision in the performance of the employee's job duties.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to prescribe jurat language in an unsworn declaration for employees of a state agency or political subdivision. The Office of Attorney General (OAG), the Office of Court Adminstration (OCA), the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), and the Secretary of State (SOS) indicate they could absorb the cost associated with the bill within their current resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
