1010 by certain county officers, county employees, or candidates for

1212 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1313 SECTION 1. Section 159.003, Local Government Code, is
1414 amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
1515 (c) The statement may be filed with the county clerk by
1616 electronic mail. The county clerk may prescribe the manner and
1717 format for filing by electronic mail.
1818 SECTION 2. Section 159.005(b), Local Government Code, is
1919 amended to read as follows:
2020 (b) The county clerk shall mail or, at the request of the
2121 person required to file under this subchapter, send by electronic
2222 mail, [two copies of] the form to each person required to file under
2323 this subchapter within the time prescribed by Section 572.030(c),
2424 Government Code.
2525 SECTION 3. Section 159.034, Local Government Code, is
2626 amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows:
2727 (d) A report filed under this subchapter may be filed by
2828 electronic mail. The authority with whom the report is filed may
2929 prescribe the manner and format for filing by electronic mail.
3030 SECTION 4. Section 159.052, Local Government Code, is
3131 amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
3232 (c) A financial statement filed with the county clerk may be
3333 filed by electronic mail. The county clerk may prescribe the manner
3434 and format for filing by electronic mail under this subsection.
3535 SECTION 5. Section 159.054(b), Local Government Code, is
3636 amended to read as follows:
3737 (b) The county clerk shall make paper and electronic copies
3838 of the form available to each person required to file under this
3939 subchapter within the time prescribed by Section 572.030(c),
4040 Government Code.
4141 SECTION 6. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
