99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subsection (c), Section 466.027, Government
1111 Code, is amended to read as follows:
1212 (c) The commission shall market and advertise the lottery
1313 game operated under this section in a manner intended to inform the
1414 public that the game tickets are available for purchase and that the
1515 game proceeds are used to fund veterans programs in this state. The
1616 amount the commission spends on its marketing and advertising
1717 budget to promote the game operated under this section shall be
1818 equivalent to the amount the commission spends to promote any other
1919 instant-ticket lottery game operated under this chapter. The game
2020 tickets must clearly state that the game proceeds are used to
2121 benefit the veterans in this state. The Texas Veterans Commission
2222 may make recommendations to the Texas Lottery Commission relating
2323 to the marketing and advertising of the game.
2424 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2013.
