55 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
66 WHEREAS, Small Town Christmas is a longstanding annual
77 holiday event in Bellville that celebrates the region's rich
88 cultural Christmas heritage and, in 2012, celebrated 30 years of
99 bringing Christmas joy to local residents and visitors; and
1010 WHEREAS, Small Town Christmas has provided many children and
1111 adults with lasting holiday memories that they share with family,
1212 friends, and loved ones; and
1313 WHEREAS, Small Town Christmas annually brings together local
1414 businesses, organizations, and groups in the spirit of Christmas
1515 cheer to provide traditional events, such as strolling carolers, a
1616 children's pageant, visits from Santa and Scrooge, and a holiday
1717 Market Day, for all families in the community; and
1818 WHEREAS, Small Town Christmas allows local citizens and
1919 visitors alike to enjoy old-fashioned Christmas traditions and
2020 brings the sights and sounds of Christmas to the whole Austin County
2121 community; this wonderful event is a cherished holiday experience
2222 for children and their families; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the 83rd Legislature of the State of Texas
2424 hereby recognize the annual Small Town Christmas celebration in the
2525 City of Bellville as the Official Small Town Christmas Event of
2626 Texas; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2828 prepared for the City of Bellville as an expression of high regard
2929 by the Texas Senate.
