| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Small Town Christmas is a longstanding annual |

| 7 | 7 | | holiday event in Bellville that celebrates the region's rich |

| 8 | 8 | | cultural Christmas heritage and, in 2012, celebrated 30 years of |

| 9 | 9 | | bringing Christmas joy to local residents and visitors; and |

| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Small Town Christmas has provided many children and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | adults with lasting holiday memories that they share with family, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | friends, and loved ones; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Small Town Christmas annually brings together local |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | businesses, organizations, and groups in the spirit of Christmas |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | cheer to provide traditional events, such as strolling carolers, a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | children's pageant, visits from Santa and Scrooge, and a holiday |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Market Day, for all families in the community; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Small Town Christmas allows local citizens and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | visitors alike to enjoy old-fashioned Christmas traditions and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | brings the sights and sounds of Christmas to the whole Austin County |

| 21 | 21 | | community; this wonderful event is a cherished holiday experience |

| 22 | 22 | | for children and their families; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the 83rd Legislature of the State of Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | hereby recognize the annual Small Town Christmas celebration in the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | City of Bellville as the Official Small Town Christmas Event of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Texas; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 28 | 28 | | prepared for the City of Bellville as an expression of high regard |
|---|
