SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1002
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Sergeant Jennifer Simpson Castaneda for her
commendable service with the Jacinto City Police Department; and
WHEREAS, She began her law enforcement career in 1995 with
the Harris County Constable Precinct 2 office; she joined the
Jacinto City Police Department in 1998 as a reserve officer, and
in 2001 she became a full-time patrol officer; and
WHEREAS, She is a member of the Gang Task Force in addition
to her duties as a patrol sergeant, and she has earned the
designation of Master Peace Officer; and
WHEREAS, The courage and personal sacrifice of this
outstanding police officer in the line of duty exemplify the best
qualities of those who serve in law enforcement and stand as a
testament to her commitment to upholding the laws of a fair and
effective justice system; and
WHEREAS, An exceptional police officer, she is respected
and admired by colleagues and citizens alike, and she is truly
deserving of recognition for her many contributions to her
profession and her community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby commend Sergeant Jennifer Simpson Castaneda
on her valor and dedication on behalf of the people of Jacinto
City and extend to her best wishes for continued success in all
her endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
