                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1015
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize Mike and Pam Reese on their outstanding leadership as
 conservationists and stewards of the lands and waters of this
 state; and
 WHEREAS, Mike and Pam Reese first purchased their Texas
 Hill Country ranch in 1995, igniting their passion for
 conservation; and
 WHEREAS, Since that time, the Reeses have protected 4,915
 acres and 4.4 miles of frontage of the Pedernales River by
 establishing conservation easements; and
 WHEREAS, Cumulatively, the easements the Reeses have
 bestowed upon The Nature Conservancy of Texas represent the
 largest gift that the Chapter has ever received; and
 WHEREAS, The Reeses' advocacy and stewardship has made the
 Pedernales one of the most protected rivers in Texas; taken
 together, private landowners, land trusts, and governments have
 preserved 19,000 acres and 25 miles of the Pedernales River; and
 WHEREAS, The Reeses' dedication to the stewardship of their
 own property epitomizes what it means to protect Texas; and
 WHEREAS, The Reeses are champions of nature, advocates of
 land conservation, leaders to other landowners, and true
 stewards of land; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 83rd Legislature, hereby congratulate Mike and Pam Reese on
 their passionate stewardship of Texas lands and water and on
 their efforts to protect the Pedernales River; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 Mike and Pam Reese as an expression of highest regard from the
 Texas Senate.
