SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1040 WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, Neva and Edwin LeBreton placed great faith and trust in one another, and they have been amply rewarded, as they are now celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary; and WHEREAS, Neva Lee Jimison and Edwin Louis LeBreton met while Edwin was serving in the military, and they were married in San Antonio on June 21, 1943; Ed continued to serve for another 20 years and the couple's seven children were born in Maryland, Louisiana, Japan, France, Texas, and Virginia; and WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. LeBreton have continued to cherish traditional family values; and WHEREAS, After Ed's retirement from military service in 1963, they moved the family to Lubbock; Ed returned to school and earned a degree from Texas Tech University, and Neva volunteered for a variety of organizations while raising their children; through the years, they have grown stronger in their love and devotion as together they have shared the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and WHEREAS, Ed and Neva have been blessed with a wonderful family; their seven children, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren have been a source of much pride and joy; Ed and Neva are currently residents of Round Rock, where they have been living since 1974; and WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. LeBreton is truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to Edwin and Neva LeBreton on their 70th wedding anniversary; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in their lives.
