SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 129
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Texas Christian University Student Government
Association delegates and other student leaders who are visiting
Austin on February 6, 2013, to celebrate Texas Christian
University Day at the State Capitol; and
WHEREAS, The voice of the student body, the Texas Christian
University Student Government Association provides an effective
channel through which students express concerns and offer
suggestions to the university administration; and
WHEREAS, The organization advocates on behalf of more than
9,000 individuals enrolled at Texas Christian University and
works to ensure that their views are reflected in policies
implemented by the university; and
WHEREAS, Visiting the Capitol today are members of this
distinguished group, joined by the chancellor of the university,
Dr. Victor Boschini; and
WHEREAS, The Student Government Association plays a
crucial role in supporting Texas Christian University students
and in advancing the mission of this proud institution; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby proclaim February 6, 2013, as Texas
Christian University Day at the State Capitol and extend to all
the representatives of this fine university sincere best wishes
for a memorable visit to Austin; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
