SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 165
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the 2013 Bucks and BBQ Cook-off as a Texas State
Barbecue Championship competition; and
WHEREAS, This exceptional event is being held March 8 and
9, 2013, in San Antonio, and it is sponsored by the Texas Trophy
Hunters Association, which is noted for its efforts to promote
and protect the proud hunting heritage of Texas; and
WHEREAS, Activities at the event include live Texas music
and a jackpot wild game competition, and the barbecue cook-off is
sanctioned by the International Barbeque Cookers Association;
participants and attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable
items for a food drive that will benefit the San Antonio Food
Bank; and
WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and
the Texas Trophy Hunters Association Bucks and BBQ Cook-off has
since its inception provided superior cuisine to satisfy the most
discriminating of palates; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
83rd Legislature, hereby commend the Texas Trophy Hunters
Association on its exemplary work and extend to its members and
all participants best wishes for a successful Bucks and BBQ
Cook-off; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a
memento of this special occasion.
