SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 186
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Hakka Association of Houston, Incorporated, on the
occasion of its 30th anniversary, which is being celebrated
February 17, 2013, at the 2013 New Year Festival; and
WHEREAS, The Hakka Association of Houston has for 30 years
done outstanding work in promoting the cultural heritage of the
Hakka community in Houston; and
WHEREAS, Its members have made numerous contributions to
the Houston area, from working in elections to providing
education about traditional medicine to sponsoring various
professional forums; the association has also hosted numerous
Mandarin and Hakka performing arts groups from Taiwan; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding organization is truly deserving
of recognition for its many achievements; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby commend the Hakka Association of Houston,
Incorporated, on its exemplary work in the community and extend
to its members best wishes for a successful 30th anniversary
celebration and a joyous 2013 New Year Festival; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the association as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
