SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 198
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
join the people of Boerne and Texans across the state in
celebrating February 13, 2013, as Leadership Boerne Day at the
Capitol; and
WHEREAS, Leadership Boerne is a leadership-development
program sponsored by the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce and
is designed to increase the number of people in the community
with leadership capabilities; and
WHEREAS, Participants engage in a series of classes on a
wide variety of topics, including government, economic
development, education, health care, and social services, and
they are encouraged to become involved in the community; and
WHEREAS, Leadership Boerne provides its members with
exemplary opportunities to meet local leaders and learn about
current issues, and graduates of the program have proven to be
more active in civic organizations; and
WHEREAS, Over the last 10 years, Leadership Boerne has
prepared nearly 250 men and women to assume new roles as leaders
in the community; this exceptional program has had an important
impact on the progress and development of Boerne, and it is truly
deserving of recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby commend Leadership Boerne on its worthy
efforts to develop new leaders and encourage civic engagement and
extend to its participants best wishes for a memorable Leadership
Boerne Day at the Capitol in 2013; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
honor of this special day.
