                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 205
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 recognize the B Sharp Youth Music Program at Como Elementary
 School in Fort Worth, which has been named a Gold Seal Program of
 Choice; and
 WHEREAS, The Gold Seal Program of Choice initiative offers
 specialized courses to students across the Fort Worth
 Independent School District, and Como Elementary School is the
 district's first elementary school to receive this prestigious
 honor; and
 WHEREAS, The B Sharp Youth Music Program offers
 participating students free daily academic tutoring along with
 instruction in percussion, brass, woodwind, and string
 instruments and voice; students in the program make up the
 district's only elementary-level symphonic orchestra; and
 WHEREAS, This outstanding program was launched in 2010 by
 the Goff Family Foundation as part of its adoption of Como
 Elementary School; in addition to musical instruction, it
 includes field trips to such venues as Bass Hall and
 opportunities to perform for audiences across the community; and
 WHEREAS, It is truly fitting that the B Sharp Youth Music
 Program be recognized as a Gold Seal Program of Choice; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
 Legislature, hereby commend the B Sharp Youth Music Program on its
 exceptional efforts in introducing young people to the enjoyment
 and discipline of music studies and extend to its participants
 best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 the school as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
