SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 291
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Victor Gavin De Leon of Boy Scout Troop 84 in Mission
for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout; this fine young man joined
the elite corps of Eagles recently and was presented the coveted
Eagle Badge at a Court of Honor; and
WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only five
out of every 100 boys in the Boy Scout program attain the rank of
Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and
promise, Gavin advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second,
First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, This personable young man displayed leadership
through planning, developing, and conducting a service project that
benefited his community; for that honorable task, Gavin collected
diapers, clothes, toys, and other materials for the Rainbow Room, a
nonprofit organization dedicated to forming a partnership between
Child Protective Services and the community; and
WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Gavin has brought
great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and
his state; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby commend Victor Gavin De Leon on receiving
this prestigious honor and congratulate him on his outstanding
achievement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Eagle
Scout De Leon as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
