SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 325 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to join the people of Giddings in celebrating the service and sacrifice of United States Marine Corps Corporal Sean Friedrich and his wife, Anna; and WHEREAS, Corporal Friedrich and Anna are receiving a new home in Giddings as part of a joint effort by the Celebrate Freedom Foundation and HonorVet.org, along with the City of Giddings and the Giddings Area Chamber of Commerce; and WHEREAS, A veteran of the Iraq war, Corporal Friedrich was severely injured in Afghanistan in an attack involving multiple improvised explosive devices, resulting in a disability diagnosis by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs; and WHEREAS, The donation of a home to the Friedrich family was made possible by a variety of organizations and businesses, including the Law Offices of Thomas G. Amon and the law firm of Betts, Walker, and Mutscher; Fischer Langham Custom Builders functioned as project manager for the venture, which included renovations to make the home handicap accessible; and WHEREAS, A ceremony to hand over ownership of the home to Corporal Friedrich and Anna is taking place March 2, 2013; it is truly fitting that communities come together to honor and give back to those who courageously serve our nation; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere gratitude to Corporal Sean Friedrich for his exemplary military service and commend the organizations that have made possible a new home for his family; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in honor of this special occasion.
