                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 401
 In Memory
 of
 Clyde M. Magnuson, Sr.
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 citizens of Fort Worth in paying tribute to the life of Clyde M.
 Magnuson, Sr., who died February 9, 2013, at the age of 81; and
 WHEREAS, Clyde Magnuson was born on September 22, 1931, in
 National Mine, Michigan, and grew up in Republic, Michigan; he
 joined the United States Air Force in 1951, and while he was
 stationed at Goose Bay, Labrador, he met the love of his life and
 future wife, Clara; and
 WHEREAS, A courageous soldier and patriot, Mr. Magnuson
 fought in the Korean and Vietnam Wars and retired in 1972 with the
 rank of master sergeant; and
 WHEREAS, After his military service, he embarked on a
 career with All Saints Episcopal School and served as the
 school's grounds supervisor for 17 years; "Mr. Clyde," as the
 students called him, was beloved by the school's community and
 was honored with the Saint of the Year Award in 2009; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Magnuson was a man of integrity and generosity
 who gave unselfishly of his time to others; he spent his
 retirement years traveling with his wife and enjoyed tending to
 his roses; he cherished the time he spent with his beloved
 children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, This exemplary gentleman will long be remembered
 for his positive attitude toward life, his amicable personality,
 and his deep-seated commitment to his friends and family; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
 bereaved family of Clyde M. Magnuson, Sr.; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Clyde Magnuson.
