SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 409 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize the registered interior designers of Texas on the occasion of Interior Design Day at the Capitol; and WHEREAS, Registered interior designers have an important impact on the daily lives of Texans across the state; they create the environments that surround us as we go about the day-to-day business of living, working, and raising families; and WHEREAS, These dedicated professionals undergo rigorous training and examination, and they combine critical and creative thinking, communication skills, and the understanding of technology to improve quality of life and increase productivity in the workplace; and WHEREAS, Registered interior designers ensure that the spaces they create meet the requirements of applicable building and fire codes and adhere to the parameters of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Texas Accessibility Standards; their work encompasses a wide variety of venues, including health care facilities, educational institutions, office and industrial interiors, hotels and restaurants, and private homes; and WHEREAS, By providing expertise and guidance in the areas of ergonomics, safety, sustainability, acoustics, and specialized design solutions, registered interior designers create environments that are both aesthetically appealing and appropriate to meet the needs of people of all ages and physical capabilities, and their work has a positive influence on the lives of countless Texans; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend the registered interior designers of Texas on their many contributions to the health, safety, and well-being of the people of Texas and extend to them best wishes for a productive and successful Interior Design Day at the Capitol; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in honor of this special occasion.
