SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 489
In Memory
of
Mark Anthony Shepard, Sr.
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
commemorates the life of Mark Anthony Shepard, Sr., who died
April 20, 2012, at the age of 49; and
WHEREAS, A longtime firefighter with the Rosehill
Volunteer Fire Department, Mark Shepard was a man of great
ability and courage; Mr. Shepard joined the department in 1987
and was a respected and admired firefighter who put his life on
the line each day to protect the lives and property of his fellow
citizens; and
WHEREAS, The reliability and personal sacrifice of this
firefighter will continue to be an inspiration to others; he was
revered for his work and his commitment to serving the people of
his community; and
WHEREAS, A man of loyalty, integrity, and strength, he gave
unselfishly to others, and his dedication to duty and his
enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be
forgotten by those who were privileged to share in his life; and
WHEREAS, Beloved by many, Mark Shepard leaves behind
memories that will be treasured forever by his family, his
friends, and his fellow firefighters; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
family of Mark Anthony Shepard, Sr.; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
memory of Mark Anthony Shepard, Sr.
