SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 501
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Barbara Puckett Todd, who has been selected for
induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her
outstanding work in the field of agriculture and ranching; and
WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those
women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio
community and the Bexar County region through their
accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and
WHEREAS, Involved in agriculture and ranching since
childhood, Barbara Todd was born into a multigenerational
ranching family; she is the owner of a small ranch, and for more
than 30 years, she has worked tirelessly with the San Antonio
Livestock Exposition in a variety of volunteer positions; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Todd is also an accomplished visual
artist and educator, and her teaching career has spanned 30
years; she currently teaches art and art history at Judson High
School, and she is noted for incorporating her ranching heritage
into her work as an artist and an educator; she encourages young
women to consider agricultural careers and has contributed
immensely to the success of the annual scholarship competition
sponsored by the San Antonio Livestock Exposition's Western Art
Committee; and
WHEREAS, Barbara Todd is highly respected for her
dedication to her work and for her outstanding accomplishments as
an art teacher and rancher; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby commend Barbara Puckett Todd for her
exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on
her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
