SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 503 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Lupe G. Ochoa, who has been selected for induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame for her outstanding work in civic leadership; and WHEREAS, The San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame honors those women who have contributed significantly to the San Antonio community and the Bexar County region through their accomplishments in their profession or field of service; and WHEREAS, Lupe Ochoa began her civic involvement at an early age; she worked with the Youth Services Project in San Antonio and went on to serve with the National Women's Employment Program; she forged a longtime successful career with the United States Census Bureau that spanned more than three decades; and WHEREAS, She continues to serve on a variety of boards, and for over 25 years, she has been an active member of Hispanas Unidas and the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas; she has received the governor's Yellow Rose of Texas award and has been recognized as an Outstanding Hispanic Woman Role Model; and WHEREAS, Lupe Ochoa is highly respected for her dedication to her work and for her outstanding accomplishments as a civic leader, and she is an inspiration to women across our state; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend Lupe G. Ochoa for her exceptional achievements and extend congratulations to her on her induction into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
