                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 516
 In Memory
 of
 Ross Herbert Ehlinger
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and pays
 tribute to the life of Ross Herbert Ehlinger, who died
 March 3, 2013, at the age of 46; and
 WHEREAS, This outstanding father, mentor, and athlete was
 beloved by children and adults alike; an attorney by day, he
 spent much of his after-hours time coaching children's sports;
 his friends and family knew him to be a man of strength, wisdom,
 and unwavering optimism; and
 WHEREAS, Born June 29, 1966, in San Antonio, Ross Ehlinger
 was the beloved baby brother to whom even his older siblings
 would look for leadership; he attended Churchill High School,
 earned his bachelor of business administration from The
 University of Texas at Austin, and graduated from Saint Mary's
 University School of Law in San Antonio; in 1993, he married his
 college sweetheart, Jena Cissel, and together the couple raised
 three children; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Ehlinger devoted much of his energy to
 encouraging young athletes; he coached youth baseball, lacrosse,
 and football; an outstanding high school football player
 himself, he shared his passion for sports as president of
 Westlake Pop Warner Football; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Ehlinger was exceptionally well respected in
 the legal profession; as a trial lawyer, he argued his cases with
 conviction and sincerity, and he had been recently inducted into
 the American Board of Trial Advocates; and
 WHEREAS, This proud father and loving husband was known for
 his infectious passion for life, travel, and competing in
 triathlons and marathons, which took him around the world; the
 many happy moments he spent with his loved ones will be cherished
 for years to come; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
 bereaved family of Ross Herbert Ehlinger; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
 so in memory of Mr. Ehlinger.
