SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 523 In Memory of Constance S. Reyna WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Constance S. Reyna, who died March 17, 2013, at the age of 88; and WHEREAS, Connie Sanchez was born in San Antonio on March 11, 1925, to Consuelo and Silvestre Sanchez; she married Robert Reyna, and the couple was blessed with four sons and 49 years of marriage together; and WHEREAS, Connie and Robert Reyna dedicated their lives to working hard and to raising their sons, Robert, Rowland, Richard, and George; they taught their sons to value education and to aim for success; their four sons made history by all graduating not only from Stanford University but also from Stanford University School of Medicine; and WHEREAS, Connie's sons founded one of the largest physician groups in San Antonio, and "Miss Connie", as she was affectionately referred to by patients, worked alongside her sons for 17 years as a greeter and helper in their primary care clinic; and WHEREAS, She was a strong believer in giving back to the community, and she was a role model for parents who strive to do the best for their children; and WHEREAS, An exemplary lady and a remarkable mother, Connie Reyna was a warm, kindhearted person who was respected in the community for her accomplishments, and she will long be remembered with affection and appreciation by all who were privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Constance S. Reyna; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Connie Reyna.
