SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 535 In Memory of Rosaura Gomez WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and commemorates the life of Rosaura Gomez, who died March 5, 2013, at the age of 91; and WHEREAS, Rosaura Gomez was an exemplary citizen who was widely admired in her community for her many achievements; and WHEREAS, Born December 29, 1921, in Tampico, Mexico, she was married to the late Frank Gomez; for many years, she was the owner of Casa Grande Restaurant and Bakery; she was active in the Avenida Guadalupe Association and served for a time as its president; and WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she gave generously to others, and her wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew her; and WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Rosaura Gomez: her daughter and son-in-law, Maria Teresa and Louis Gonzalez; her son and daughter-in-law, Marcos and Debbie Gomez; her four siblings; and her seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rosaura Gomez.
