SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 54 In Memory of Peter Barnard Peralta WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Corpus Christi in mourning the loss of Peter Barnard "Pete" Peralta, who died January 4, 2013, at the age of 54; and WHEREAS, Pete Peralta was an exemplary citizen who was widely admired for his many achievements and his many years of service to his community; and WHEREAS, Mr. Peralta worked for more than three decades with the Nueces County Sheriff's Department; he began his law enforcement career as a corrections officer and rose through the ranks to eventually become assistant chief deputy; and WHEREAS, Despite personal hardship, he served his community with diligence and determination; over the course of his distinguished career, he worked for six sheriffs and was a vital part of each of those administrations; and WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten; and WHEREAS, He was devoted to his extended, loving family, and he leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever by his family and countless friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Peter Barnard Peralta; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Peter Peralta.
