SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 546
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the United Veterans Burial Association in Alice; and
WHEREAS, This exemplary organization was founded in Alice
in 1995 and provides military honors free of charge at funerals
for veterans from all branches of the armed forces; these honors
include a 21-gun salute, the playing of "Taps," and the
presentation of an American flag to family members of the
deceased; and
WHEREAS, The association respects all faiths and creeds and
works with family members to meet each family's unique needs; over
the years, the association has taken part in more than 1,000
funerals for those who have served the nation in the military; and
WHEREAS, The United Veterans Burial Association has worked
diligently to ensure that America's veterans receive the respect
they deserve, and it is truly fitting that its members be
recognized for their service; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
83rd Legislature, hereby commend the United Veterans Burial
Association on its exceptional contributions to the Alice
community and extend to its members best wishes for the future;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the association as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
