SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 560
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Reverend Selvaraj Sinnappan, who is celebrating
his 44th birthday and the 18th anniversary of his ordination as a
priest; and
WHEREAS, The Reverend Selvaraj Sinnappan is pastor of
Saint Therese Catholic Church in Canton; he studied for the
priesthood in his native India, where he served in five different
parishes before coming to the United States in 2003; and
WHEREAS, Over the last 18 years, Pastor Sinnappan has
ministered faithfully to the temporal and spiritual needs of
countless people; under his outstanding leadership, Saint
Therese Catholic Church has continued to grow and to play a vital
role in the life of the Canton community; and
WHEREAS, A man of spiritual depth and devotion, he has
prayed with and counseled the members of his congregation during
times of hardship and bereavement and rejoiced with them in times
of prosperity and celebration; and
WHEREAS, Inspirational and dedicated to helping others,
Pastor Sinnappan has devoted his time and energy unselfishly to
the members of his church and his community; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby commend the Reverend Selvaraj Sinnappan on
his 18 years of exemplary leadership in the priesthood,
congratulate him on his 44th birthday, and extend to him best
wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
