SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 590
WHEREAS, Since the founding of Georgetown Area Republican
Women, its members have made significant contributions to
Williamson County and to the Texas GOP; and
WHEREAS, With a mission to promote the Republican Party's
philosophy throughout the Georgetown area and beyond, the
organization provides copies of the United States Constitution
to every fifth grade student and lesson plans and materials to
every teacher in the Florence and Jarrell school districts in
celebration of Liberty Day; the club also gives a student
dictionary to every third grader in the Florence, Jarrell, and
Granger districts and a book to each kindergartner in the
Florence and Jarrell districts; in addition, through its Audrey
McDonald Scholarships for Young Women, the organization awards
$1,500 to three deserving students from local high schools; and
WHEREAS, Under the leadership of president Linda McDaniel,
the Georgetown group also engages in a number of worthy endeavors
to support service members and their families, such as
contributing to the Vet-Am Golf Tournament held in Sun City; and
WHEREAS, The members of Georgetown Area Republican Women
are making a lasting difference through their grassroots
political activism, and they may take justifiable pride in their
rich history of civic engagement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby honor Georgetown Area Republican Women for
its many accomplishments and extend to its members sincere best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for the club as an expression of high regard from the
Texas Senate.
