SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 596
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Bishop James C. Roland, who is celebrating 32 years of
service in the ministry on April 21, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Roland is pastor of Shekinah Christian
Fellowship Center, which he founded in 1996 as New Faith Christian
Fellowship Center; and
WHEREAS, With Bishop Roland's guidance, the church has
continued to expand and grow; its congregation has supported the
minister in his efforts to better serve and enlighten the
community of Houston; and
WHEREAS, Among his past accomplishments are the organization
of a citywide youth development program and the establishment of a
pastoral council on family abuse; most recently, he conducted a
missionary trip to the African countries of Togo, Ghana, and Benin;
and
WHEREAS, Over the last 32 years, this dedicated leader has
ministered tirelessly to the spiritual and temporal needs of
innumerable Christians; inspirational and dedicated to helping
others, this man of faith has devoted his time and energy
unselfishly to the members of his church; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
Legislature, hereby commend Bishop James C. Roland on his 32
years of service to the ministry; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Bishop Roland as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
