SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 652 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Ida Mae Brantley on the grand occasion of her 100th birthday; and WHEREAS, This exemplary lady is well known for her charm and generosity, and she is a revered resident of the Sterling House of Lancaster; and WHEREAS, Ida Mae Brantley was born April 14, 1913, in Longview; over the course of her marriages to Willie Walker and Cleaster Brantley, Sr., she raised seven children, who have been a source of much pride and joy for her, and she has been blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Brantley is a devout Christian who practices her faith in her daily life, and she has been a longtime member of First Full Gospel Pentecostal Church; and WHEREAS, A beloved and respected member of her community, she is noted for her courage, her compassion for others, and her enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby commend Ida Mae Brantley on her many achievements and extend to her best wishes on the occasion of her 100th birthday; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
