                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 654
 In Memory
 of
 Louis Pitcock, Jr.
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 residents of Graham in mourning the loss of Louis Pitcock, Jr.,
 who died March 22, 2013, at the age of 88; and
 WHEREAS, Born on June 18, 1924, in Fort Worth, Louis
 Pitcock graduated from Graham High School; he served his country
 during World War II in the Intelligence Section of the United
 States Air Force Strategic Air Command of Southeast Asia and was
 stationed in the China-Burma-India theater; and
 WHEREAS, He earned a bachelor's degree in history and
 government from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas,
 and on June 29, 1949, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary
 Ellen McFarlane; and
 WHEREAS, Louis soon joined the family business, Pitcock,
 Incorporated, and helped oversee its diverse interests; he also
 was an active leader in the First United Methodist Church of
 Graham and in the Rotary Club of Graham; and
 WHEREAS, This exemplary gentleman placed great importance
 on civic duty and education; he served on the board of the Graham
 Chamber of Commerce, was chairman of the Graham Public Library,
 and helped establish the Board of Higher Education Commission of
 the City of Graham; in addition, he served on the Young County
 Democratic Executive Committee for 30 years; and
 WHEREAS, A highly respected community leader and a devoted
 family man, Louis Pitcock dedicated his energy and time to helping
 others; his generous spirit inspired all those who knew him, and he
 leaves behind memories that will long be cherished by his beloved
 wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Louis Pitcock, Jr.; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Louis Pitcock.
