SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 658 In Memory of Clarice Orise WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Clarice Orise, who died February 7, 2013, at the age of 60; and WHEREAS, Clarice Orise was an exemplary citizen whose commitment and determination as an educator had a profound impact on the lives of countless students; and WHEREAS, A native of Brenham, she grew up in San Antonio and earned numerous degrees; she taught mathematics for more than 36 years at Tafolla Middle School, where she also coached tennis and served as sponsor for the pep squad; and WHEREAS, She was known for her ability to convey difficult concepts and to bring out the best in all of her students, and her effective teaching methods and ability to motivate students served as an inspiration to others; and WHEREAS, She acted as a mentor and guide to her younger colleagues, and she instilled in her students a lifelong love of learning; and WHEREAS, A woman of courage, strength, and compassion, she gave generously to others, and her wisdom, patience, and quiet determination will not be forgotten by those who were privileged to share in her life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Clarice Orise; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Clarice Orise.
