SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 681 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Dr. Thomas L. Huber III, a devoted and caring veterinarian who has had a general practice in League City, Texas, for the past 26 years; and WHEREAS, Dr. Huber was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on December 25, 1951, the son of Thomas and Vivian Huber; and WHEREAS, Dr. Huber earned a bachelor's degree in animal science from Nicholls State University in 1979 and a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Louisiana State University in 1983; after receiving his license as a veterinarian, he found a home in League City, Texas, where he began his animal practice and emergency clinic; and WHEREAS, Dr. Huber is married to his lovely wife, Anne, and they currently reside in Friendswood; they have four children, Heidi, Heather, Thomas, and Hillary, and one grandchild, Molly; and WHEREAS, Dr. Huber and his wife started the League City Animal Clinic in July of 1987, and he has treated thousands of animals and pets; he has cared for each of them as his own, sometimes without remuneration; and WHEREAS, Dr. Huber is a life member of the League City Evening Lions Club, and he is a member of the Texas and American Veterinary Medical Associations; he has supported the League City Police Department, the League City Animal Shelter, local schools, and many athletic clubs; and WHEREAS, Dr. Thomas Huber brings a great passion to his chosen profession; he has made it his life's work to protect the health of the animals entrusted to his care, many of which are beloved pets that are cherished as family members; the love they bear for him, the trust and gratitude of their caregivers, and the respect of the community are testaments to his great compassion, his caring and generous nature, and his devotion to excellence in his profession; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd Legislature, hereby pay tribute to Dr. Thomas L. Huber III for his selfless commitment as a community veterinarian and extend to him best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
