                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 75
 In Memory
 of
 Albert Byron Sibbet
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
 commemorates the life of Albert Byron Sibbet, who died January 9,
 2013, at the age of 66; and
 WHEREAS, Byron Sibbet was born October 30, 1945, in Fort
 Worth; he attended York Christian College and Abilene Christian
 University and earned a degree in business from McMurry
 University; he married Joan Hatfield in 1973 and the couple
 raised a daughter, Staci, who blessed them with a grandchild,
 Taylor; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Sibbet began his professional career with Hobbs
 Trailers in Fort Worth; he went on to work at Bell Helicopter and
 later joined the staff of Lockheed Martin; after his retirement, he
 obtained a real estate license and worked for Keller Williams
 Realty in Southlake; and
 WHEREAS, He became interested in politics while still in
 high school, and he drew on that attraction later in life by
 running for and serving in elected office; he served as a city
 councilmember in North Richland Hills and was mayor pro tempore
 for a decade; he was president of Midcities Democrats and served
 as an election judge; and
 WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he gave
 unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel
 will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and
 WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather,
 and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his
 family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Albert Byron Sibbet; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Albert Byron Sibbet.
